I am a Certified Conscious Parent Coach trained in Dr. Shefali Tsabary’s Conscious Parenting Method Certification Program, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Instructor with over 20 years experience helping individuals transition and adjust to many of life’s changes.

Shortly after becoming a new mother, I realize that I needed a way to better manage stress and found meditation, a natural extension of the yoga practice I’d had for many years. Naturally, my practice segued into training and eventually I became certified in the SEED Meditation Method, created by Sarah McLean. Soon after, motivated as a way to improve the relationship with my daughter, I was introduced to Dr. Shefali’s books and courses on Conscious Parenting. Eventually, I became a Certified Conscious Parenting Coach as a way to help other parents and caregivers develop conscious awareness through self-inquiry and self-compassion while promoting a healthy mind, body, and spirit. What I did not expect, but learned quickly, is that the work is very individual and begins within before we can even consider our children.

Currently, I offer Conscious Parent Coaching either locally or via live video and teach meditation/mindfulness to adults in group classes and in individual private sessions. My goal is creating a safe therapeutic environment which demystifies meditation, aides in self-discovery, healing, and allows for a positive experience and better assimilation of life’s events.

Conscious Parenting

Conscious Parenting transforms the traditional parenting paradigm by turning things around and focusing on the parents consciousness before, during, and throughout the raising of the child. The focus is on the parents conscious awareness and evolution. In CP, we focus on how our own childhoods impact our children by how we interact with them. Conscious Parenting is a multifaceted approach that takes the children’s needs, skills, and emotional state into consideration, rather than our own need to control and discipline out of fear.

Meditation

Meditation can be described as a practice, a technique, or an experience. This ancient tool or technique can be used in the process of becoming conscious and awakening to our unconscious patterns which rule our lives. It is also useful for settling the nervous system and training the brain to be more focused, engaged, and less reactive.

Wellness

Stress management, nutrition and exercise are all components of a healthy lifestyle. Often times, these can become unbalanced and create disease or dis-comfort within the body. I help educate clients by using different tools and methods to create more balance and reduce stress. I am also a Juice Plus+ Partner and can help you bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat, every day, with added nutrition from a wide variety of whole food plant based ingredients.
